The Mercury Prize 2022 has been delayed as a result of the Queen’s passing. At Balmoral, Queen Elizabeth II peacefully passed away at the age of 96, bringing an end to her 70-year rule.
Her Majesty was reportedly under medical supervision and “comfortable” as of Thursday lunchtime when the death announcement was made. The Mercury Prize will not take place today as scheduled due to the news; instead, a new date has been set.
