Throughout the summer, we’ll be cooking this classic margarita recipe. It’s incredibly easy to make with only five ingredients.
This is all you need to make the best margarita you can. You only want fresh lime juice, triple sec, and good tequila.
What’s the secret to a good margarita?
A better marg is made with more juice. What that means is making your own lemonade with real lime juice and a little bit of fresh OJ. That’s correct. juice made from an “actual,” not a “flavoured,” orange. That’s what makes the margarita taste cleaner and more refreshing.
Classic Margarita Recipe:
The key is to start with a base of tequila, lime juice, and sugar, then add other things. Then, add one or more of these three things: liqueur, fruit juice, or fresh fruit. Try a new twist on the margarita. Aside from liqueur, you can add a few ounces of your favourite fruit juice to the mix.
- There will be one lime wedge and two lime wheels for garnish.
- For the glass rims, 1 tablespoon of coarse salt.
- A 4 ounce (120ml) bottle of high-quality white tequila
- Cointreau, two ounces (60ml)
- 1.5 ounces (45ml) of fresh lime juice squeezed from two limes
Run a lime wedge around the outside rims of two rocks glasses, then dip them in salt. Set things aside.
In a cocktail shaker, mix the tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice together. Fill with ice and shake for about 15 seconds until it’s very cold (the bottom of a metal shaker should frost over).
Fresh ice should be added to both glasses. Strain the margarita into both glasses and enjoy! Garnish with lime wheels, then serve and eat the food.
